You can also head to the Family Dollar in Smithfield for other essentials. With little to no traffic in the area, locals will never need to worry about congested highways and noisy streets. Downtown Pittsburgh is a 60-mile drive from Springhill Township, though residents do have access to U.S. Route 119, which runs directly through the township.
Fishing and hiking at Cheat Lake Park
To spend time outdoors, township residents often travel 6 miles south for a day at Cheat Lake Park. Stationed just beyond the Pennsylvania-West Virginia border, the park offers a 4.5-mile hiking and biking trail, along with a swimming beach and playground. Containing a wide array of fish from largemouth and smallmouth bass to catfish and crappies, Cheat Lake is also a popular gathering spot for local fishermen.
