The community has a constant rotation of events, including out-of-town destinations for hiking and entertainment. “They take bus tours through Zion and Las Vegas,” Wood says. Locals can also find cultural and large-scale events within the SunRiver St. George Community Association building. “There’s a ballroom with a theater where they have plays. They have dances and quarterly and annual events,” Reid says.

SunRiver is composed of cul-de-sacs and winding roads of condos and single-family homes. The yards tend to be compact with a median lot size of 3,000 square feet, so backyards and driveways are sometimes on the smaller side, and houses sit close to one another. They’re landscaped to blend in with the area’s desert setting, often decorated with rocks, gravel and agave plants.
