Just 20 miles east of the Big Apple lies a quaint and quiet village located in the heart of Nassau County, Long Island. Named after New York entrepreneur, Alexander Turney Stewart, this small village was first recognized in the 1920s. Stewart Manor is located east of Floral Park, south of New Hyde Park and west of Franklin Square. In 1927, Stewart Manor was incorporated as a village. Stewart Manor is predominantly residential, yet has convenient amenities nearby. Close proximity to the Long Island Railroad provides residents with direct access to Midtown Manhattan, and many businesses such as retail shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and entertainment establishments are just a short drive away. Stewart Manor is a desired neighborhood in New York, and as a primarily residential area, it offers peace and quiet near the railroad, which travels directly into business hubs in Manhattan.

Much of the neighborhood’s architectural styles include classic Cape Cod and Victorian-style builds. The village is home to Stewart Manor Elementary School, which is part of the Elmont Union Free School District and earns an A from Niche. Older students can attend the B-plus-rated Sewanhaka High School, part of the top-rated Sewanhaka Central High School District.

Country clubs near Belmont Park and UBS Arena

Other notable attractions include concerts and sporting events at the newly erected UBS Arena, home of the NHL’s New York Islanders. Stewart Manor is home to many local businesses such as restaurants, grocery stores and retail shops – mostly found along Covert Avenue and Jericho Turnpike. Access to the Long Island Rail Road and highways near Manhattan

Like most Long Island neighborhoods, having a personal vehicle is the most convenient way to get around. With that said, Stewart Manor has great public transportation via the Long Island Railroad, which connects residents directly into Midtown Manhattan in approximately 30 minutes. The neighborhood is also situated relatively close to the Cross Island Parkway and Route 25, allowing for smooth travel.
