Close-knit blend of subdivisions popular with Philadelphia commuters
Stonybrook-Wilshire is a blend of subdivisions on the east edge of York. Although the area is predominantly residential, locals are within a few miles of the York Galleria mall and other suburban amenities. “Stonybrook-Wilshire is a quiet, family-friendly neighborhood with a strong sense of community,” says Dana Tolliver, Realtor with Keller Williams Keystone Realty. “The homes are well-maintained, and there is a lot of open space. The neighborhood is also close to schools, parks and shopping.” In addition, Stonybrook-Wilshire offers a good variety of home styles, all within a few miles of U.S. Route 30, which is a big plus for commuters. “The area has both entry level homes and nicer ones. It’s an established development, with most homes built in the 1950s and ‘60s,” says Sam Stein, broker of record at Inch & Co. Real Estate who has been selling houses for over 30 years. “If you work in Philadelphia, it’s a good location. A lot of people there will drive to Lancaster and hop on the train to Philly.”
Stonybrook-Wilshire has a variety of homes dating back to the post World War II era.
