Cascades Park is a major draw

Families with children in Downtown Tallahassee are served by Leon County Schools, one of the better school districts in Florida with an A-minus from Niche. Students can start their education at Kate Sullivan Elementary, a B-plus schools with a student-teacher ratio of 16 to 1, slightly better than the national average. With a B grade from Niche, Raa Middle School has an 8th grade field trip to New York City and Washington, D.C. for the spring of 2024 as part of the Arts Magnet Program. One of the oldest high schools in the countries, Leon High School was founded in 1831, 14 years before Florida became a state. Leon gets an A grade from Niche, which named it the third-best public high school in the Tallahassee area for the 2023-23 school year. Known for a handful of notable alumni, actress Fay Dunaway stands out their ranks.

Located at City Center, Downtown Tallahassee is highly walkable and accessible to both Florida State University and Florida A&M University. East Tennessee is the local thoroughfare in and out of town from east to west, with Monroe Street running north to south.
