Hartsfield is a transition zone from suburbia to country
Hartsfield is a half-rural, half-residential satellite neighborhood on the western edge of Tallahassee. While the neighborhood itself is fairly low-key, its residents are within a short drive of many of the city’s top draws, including Downtown, the Florida State University campus and expansive wildlife management areas west of the city. “Parts of the neighborhood are pretty rural,” says local broker Carmen Mansfield of McClellan Realty. “But it gets pretty densely residential closer to the city. There’s a real range of housing choices in the area, depending on whether you’re looking for a bit more space or more of a close-knit neighborhood kind of vibe.”
