Homes for middle-income buyers to multi-millionaires
Thick forests surround Maclay, providing welcome shade from the Florida sun, while dogwoods and crepe myrtles hug the roadways, setting a pretty scene. Residential properties include ranch-style homes, New Traditional, Colonial-style and newer brick duplexes with driveways. Prices for most single-family homes in this tidy suburb range from about $340,000 to $950,000. Waterfront homes like those on the eastern side of Lake Hall around Phipps Point Road can run to $5 million. These secluded homes aren’t likely to show up on the MLS as their residents rarely sell, says Colt Seiler, who works for the nearby Florida Association of Court Clerks & Comptrollers and lived around the Maclay area for 19 years. “You will not find more expensive homes in Florida than those around Lake Hall,” Seiler says. “In Tallahassee, you will literally never see a Lamborghini or a Maclaren, except for in Market Square,” he says.
