Classic Style

Throughout Magnolia, a variety of historical architecture can be found. Common styles include 1940s bungalows with front stoops and porches, midcentury cottages, traditional homes with Minimalist accents, and charming ranch styles. Most homes are situated on sizeable lots with lawns accented by date palms and flowering crepe myrtles. Many homes are set atop hills carpeted with sword fern, taro and mimosa trees. There are also a few newer constructions featuring Southern Colonial designs that pay homage to Tallahassee’s rich history. Homes in Magnolia Height’s range from $240,000 to $350,000—and new construction can go for as high as $430,000.

Cascades Park has it all

Less than a mile from Magnolia, Cascades Park is spread across 24 acres and features an amphitheater, biking and walking trails, an interactive fountain, garden playscapes and more. Residents can also bike across Apalachee Parkway before enjoying live music or Shakespeare in the Park performances. Historic Leon High offers students choice

Students in Magnolia begin their academic journey at Frank Hartsfield Elementary, before moving on to Fairview Middle and finishing up at Leon High School. According to Niche, these schools earned scores of C-plus, B, and A, respectively. Recognized as Florida’s oldest continually accredited high school, Leon High was originally founded in 1871 and its current facility was built in 1936. The school offers more than 25 AP courses in fields such as computer science, physics, Latin, and music theory. The girls’ volleyball team recently won two state championships, and the competitive cheer team ranked seventh nationally as recently as 2017. Leon High also boats a robust performing arts program that features chorus, orchestra and theatre.
