From aviation to art, schools reflect diverse student paths

Sports complexes and stadiums are central to neighborhood life

As a college area, football and other sports are a big deal here. Close by is Doak S. Campbell Stadium, Florida State University's football stadium, which seats 82,000 people. The Florida State University Sportsplex is also in the University District. It hosts a variety of soccer games and tournaments throughout the season. The James Messer Sports Complex includes 11 lighted baseball/softball fields and the Mike Blankenship Skate Park. Enjoy the great outdoors at Innovative Park's 208 acres of spring-fed lakes, forestland, and rolling hills. The park also holds 17 research and development facilities, which are home to over 30 organizations. During the summer, the area offers three public pools to serve the community.

The University area of Tallahassee is brimming with locally owned vintage stores and bookstores catering to college students.
