Woodland Lakes
Ranch homes from the ‘70s through the ‘90s
Woodland Lakes has a mix of single-family homes, townhouses and condos. Many of the homes are low-lying ranches built between the ‘70s and the ‘90s. They are neatly landscaped with short grass and tropical foliage and often come with attached garages or carports. Townhouses have Spanish-inspired detailing like stucco facades and red roofing. Condos overlook green golf courses speckled with blue lakes toward the center of the neighborhood. Many neighborhoods have homeowners associations and community amenities like clubhouses and pools. Single-family homes between two and four bedrooms range from $200,000 to $700,000.Residents eat at new and established restaurants
Shops, restaurants and services are located in shopping centers along North University Drive. Residents go there to shop for groceries at Publix, Aldi and Quince Supermarket, refresh their wardrobes at Ross, or eat at several casual restaurants. Hallyu Korean BBQ and Bar opened in 2023 with private karaoke rooms and tabletop grills for cooking Korean-style meats. Some restaurants are also under construction. “The city has pushed a lot of initiatives to get higher-end chain restaurants and businesses in the area,” Apollon says. For a longtime local favorite, locals go to La Antioqueña Café and Restaurant, a neighborhood staple since 2000 serving arepas and mondongo.Hotrods on display at Tamarac event
Woodland Lakes locals take advantage of special events in Tamarac. They may shop for fresh produce, honey and other unique finds every Sunday at the Tamarac Community Farmers Market. Car enthusiasts put their rides on display at the Rock N’ Ride Concert and Car Show with food trucks and entertainment. The Multicultural Festival presents performances from around the world such as Irish dance.Woodland Lakes schools make the grade
Students can attend nearby schools which earn an A or B, according to Niche. Young pupils go to Pinewood Elementary School, which receives a B, or Everest Charter School, a K-8 school that gets a B-minus. Niche gives Millennium 6-12 Collegiate Academy an A and deems it the third best public middle school in Broward County. Students may earn high school credits while enrolled in middle school, while high school students can take several Advanced Placement courses and dual enrollment courses for college credit.Woodland Lakes residents dive into local parks
Part of the landscape since 1971, the Colony West Golf Club spans 262 acres in the neighborhood with challenging championship and executive golf courses. Located in the heart of the neighborhood, Waters Edge Park is a good spot for a summer outing with a colorful splash pad for kids to run through and picnic tables for parents. Caporella Aquatic Center is another spot to cool down with a winding slide at the public pool.Florida Turnpike is a nearby thoroughfare
With stops in Woodland Lakes, the Tamarac Community Shuttle Service helps residents get around. In case of emergency, HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital borders the neighborhood to the north. To catch a flight, locals take the Turnpike to the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, which is about 20 miles away.Agents Specializing in this Area
