Arbor Greene is managed like a small, self-run town
Arbor Greene is a carefully crafted community determined to make life feel as much like a resort vacation as possible. Established in the late 1990s, it is directed by a board of five people and a team of district administration. This special governmental unit allows the community to receive direct attention and action. Although residents must leave the neighborhood for necessities and outings, Arbor Greene is buzzing with activities and amenities for a day spent in the neighborhood.
Palm trees and soft tones create a relaxed, resort-like feel
The residential streets of Arbor Greene loop around small lakes and woodsy patches. Live-oak trees sprawl out from well-manicured lawns, tunneling the streets. Most homes feature stucco exteriors, arched entryways and clay-tile roofs. Others offer shingled roofs and stone-embellished exteriors. All in all, the neighborhood homes follow similar Mediterranean designs. The house paints vary between sandy beiges, soft yellows and muted greys. With palm trees reaching the tops of houses and lush ferns huddled near front doors, this neighborhood embraces a tropical atmosphere.
Local youth attend schools north of the neighborhood
Public elementary and middle schools are situated just north of Arbor Greene and cater to local youth. Most residents commute for employment purposes.
Nature trails and resort-style pools offer year-round recreation
To the South, the Arbor Greene borders the Lower Hillsborough Wildlife Area. Residents can visit natural hardwood swamps woven with boardwalk trails and bike paths. Within the neighborhood, sidewalks wind through front lawns, creating safe paths for residents to walk. Streetlights guide the walkways in the evenings. For an even safer experience, residents can join the weekly walk group and engage in some social exercise. Playgrounds are peppered throughout the neighborhood, allowing accessible play for kids and families. Each designated space offers a small playset and half-court basketball. A resort pool provides residents with an escape from the heat. Equipped with sunning chairs, pool visitors can lounge and relax. For more serious swimmers, the Junior-Olympic-designed pool offers lap lanes and scheduled swimming lessons with skilled professionals. The lap pool is kept between 80 and 84 degrees all year long. Eight clay tennis courts allow residents to practice, organize matches or take lessons with a community-hired professional. A small fitness room and studio provide residents with proper strength and cardio equipment, similar in style to an apartment complex or hotel.
Community center hosts clubs, parties and neighborhood events
While the amenities cater greatly to physical activity, the community center serves as Arbor Greene’s outlet for social interest. The Gathering Room is a designated space for special events, parties and community meetings. This room is equipped with tables and chairs, a refrigerator and partial kitchen, wall-mounted televisions and lounge furniture. Residents round up kids’ birthday parties here after a day at the pool. Adult clubs meet here as well, like Book Club, Sewing Club, Bro’s Club and Women’s Wine-Down Wednesdays.
Grocery stores and retail options are located a few miles away
Since there is no commercial influence in Arbor Greene, residents must leave the neighborhood for shopping and desired outings. The nearest grocery store is about 3 miles away.
Interstate 75 and 4 offer quick routes to Tampa and airport
Access to Interstate 75, which connects to Interstate 4, is within a 5-mile drive. These two highways are the main legs of routes to Tampa International Airport, about 30 miles away, and Tampa, closer to 24 miles away.
GreatSchools:
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data.
