Residential community less than 2 miles from downtown Temple
Just north of downtown Temple, between Interstate 35 and Loop 363, is the residential Bellaire District, comprised largely of established homes, along with a large city park. “It’s an affordable area with recently renovated homes maintained well by homeowners associations,” says Taylor Colwell, a Realtor with Anchor Realty based in the Belton and Temple areas. “If a reasonably priced, single-family home is what you’re looking for, Bellaire is probably where you want to go.” The City Planning Team has plans for road improvements, increased visibility of neighborhood signs and better connecting public spaces through sidewalks. “[Home builder] D.R. Horton is putting in quite a few more housing developments over there, closer to the industrial district,” says Colwell. “There are new warehouses being built and new jobs coming into that area, too.” And while the entertainment of downtown Temple is a short drive away, Bellaire District is home to the Cultural Activities Center which hosts major concerts along with community events.
