There’s a ton of golf courses, pickleball courts, you name it – plenty to keep you busy every day.” Raber goes so far as to describe the area as an adult theme park. “Honestly, you can’t describe it,” she says. “You have to go and see it.” The Village of McClure has a CAP Index Crime Score of 2 out of 10, lower than the national average of 4.

Numerous shopping options are located along U.S. routes 301 and 441, including big-box stores and franchise restaurants. Grocery stores include Publix, Winn-Dixie and Fresh Market. Nearby Magnolia Plaza is close enough for locals to drive their golf carts there, making for convenient shopping. Reveille Café offers indoor and outdoor seating, serving classic brunch fare. In nearby Wildwood , Sawgrass Tavern prides itself on a Celtic atmosphere with a menu to match, including Scotch eggs, shepherd’s pie and corned beef and cabbage.

Healthcare is provided at The Villages Medical Center, which offers facilities for emergency services and day-to-day care. Public transit isn't available, but Raber says that a culture of golf carts and bicycles is common to the area, with locals preferring their small-scale vehicles to full-sized cars.
