Top-tier amenities and residences on The Woodlands’ west side
One of the most coveted addresses in The Woodlands, even Sterling Ridge’s name evokes silver-plated luxury. Sterling Ridge is one of the area's biggest villages and offers extra amenities, including two major shopping centers. The neighborhood also has a higher average price point than its neighbors, giving it a reputation as one of The Woodlands' most upscale communities. It is not uncommon to see sprawling estates among Sterling Ridge’s thick tree cover. Its location on the far western side of The Woodlands means that commuters will have a longer trip to downtown Houston, but anyone working in the oil industry in neighboring Tomball will have a short 10-mile drive.

Carlton Woods and Woodlands Country Club have the village’s best golf
The northern part of Sterling Ridge is occupied by two major golf courses. The larger of the two is The Club at Carlton Woods on Carlton Woods Drive, which has two golf courses and a private pool and waterpark. Woodlands Country Club Gary Player Course on Branch Crossing is detached from the club’s main grounds on Grand Fairway and is known as one of Woodland Country Club's most challenging courses. Terramont Park is between these two courses and is one of Sterling Ridge’s most popular public parks. In addition to the area’s disc golf course, skate park and playground, the surrounding area is dotted with pocket parks like Marquise Oaks Pond Park on Terramont Drive.

Sterling Ridge Mall and The Colonnade provide double the shopping
Sterling Ridge is large enough that it has two major shopping centers. The Sterling Ridge Shopping Center on Lake Woodlands Drive is the larger of the two, with a Kroger, several doctors’ offices, chain restaurants and banks. Via Emilia Italian Restaurant, a favorite fine dining option with a classic Italian menu, is on Kuykendahl Road across from the shopping center. The mall is also close to The Hindu Temple of The Woodlands on Forestgate Drive, one of two Hindu temples in the area.
The Colonnade of The Woodlands on the western end of The Woodlands Parkway is the second retail area. It is anchored by a Walmart and is home to The Republic Grille Magnolia, an eatery with a new spin on Southern cuisine. The Colonnade also hosts the Sterling Ridge Artisans and Farmers Market every Sunday morning.

Sterling Ridge homes range from traditional to luxury
Sterling Ridge is filled with traditional Craftsman-style homes with brick, stone or stucco façades. Depending on the property’s age and lot size, these homes can range from $400,000 to $900,000. The village’s most luxurious properties have a more European aesthetic, with Mediterranean and French-inspired details like terracotta roof shingles, prominent bay windows and arched entryways. These estates can go from $1 million to around $5 million. These residences are built on streets filled with dense trees and shaded walking paths, which are a selling point on their own. “It’s one of the most lovely places, the whole thing feels like a park,” says Beth Ferester, a Realtor with Corcoran Ferester Realty who has worked in The Woodlands for 42 years. “You feel like you’re in a park instead of going up 45.” Sterling Ridge has a CAP Index Crime Score of 1, the lowest possible score on the index.

Far from Houston, a short drive from Tomball
Because it is one of the Woodlands villages farthest away from I-45, locals commuting into downtown Houston will likely have a longer drive and more traffic. “One of the best parts about the Woodlands is its centrally located,” says Betsy Rusell, a Realtor for Zarco Properties and a former teacher at McCullough Junior High School. “The newer villages are farther away, so it takes longer to get to 45 if you work in the city.” Sterling Ridge is 30 miles away from George Bush Intercontinental Airport and 37 miles from downtown Houston via the Woodlands Parkway and I-45. It is only 10 miles away from Tomball, another major employment hub famous for its lucrative oil industry.
