Laidback neighborhood a short drive from Mobile
Quiet, peaceful residences and a laidback southern atmosphere have kept families in Hillview for generations. "You're on the outskirts of Mobile County here, and this area of West Mobile is a huge region that's beginning to grow, especially after it was annexed into the county," says Realtor Brooks Beck with Beck Properties. "It's a quiet enough area where you can get a lot for the prices, but close enough to I-10 that you can easily hop on the highway to get into the city." Hillview's quiet enclaves have snug yards and tall, mature trees. Most homes are ranch-style homes or manufactured homes, built between the 1950s and 1990s, but there are occasionally newly constructed houses. Lots are more often for sale than homes, with prices ranging between $43,000 and $215,000. Previously sold homes have prices ranging between $120,000 and $240,000. "This is typically an era where families stay for a long time--most of the community has been there for several generations. This area south of Mobile County is growing, but it's still a small, tight-knit neighborhood." There are also several apartment complexes available for renters in Hillview.

Theodore Dawes Road borders the neighborhood's western edge, lined with clusters of retail spaces and restaurants.
