"Bobcat Nation" is emblazoned across the water tower that overlooks Theodore, a community of 6,330 about 13 miles south of downtown Mobile. The message sets the vibe for the area, which supports Theodore High School’s Bobcat football team on Friday nights in fall. “The high school has a very popular football team that has won awards over the years,' says Devin Schaff, a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty Mobile and a 17-year Mobile resident. Homes in this rural area are a mix of older farms and small subdivisions, says Schaff, and properties that tend to be more affordable. Industrial sites are scattered across the region. Hugging I-10, Plantation is a good fit for those seeking a rural backdrop but easy access to the interstate. And now, thanks to the new Creekside Estates subdivision, homebuyers can move into an up-to-the minute Smart Home.
