Convenient access to Tinley Park Metra station

Residents here have convenient access to the Tinley Park train station and the Metra, which travels directly into downtown Chicago situated approximately 30 miles away. Locals here can also use the Pace bus for public transportation, which operates fixed routes in Tinley Park along Oak Park Avenue and 183rd Street. Interstate 80 runs east-west just south of the neighborhood and connects residents to the surrounding Chicago Metropolitan Area as well as other major thoroughfares.

For everyday grocery shopping, residents can drive a few blocks northwest to Jewel-Osco. Residents can also walk to the downtown area and check out a number of local restaurants, retail shops and bars. “Other suburbs nearby have attempted to create a downtown district, but none have succeeded as Tinley Park has,” Cronin says. The Station Pub & Eatery is just steps away from the Tinley Park train station and offers a relaxed atmosphere, a well-stocked bar and great food. To experience a blast from the past, residents can walk over to J.W. Hollstein’s Saloon, a casual nightspot that’s been serving patrons since 1868 with pub grub, live music nights and a dance floor.

Downtown Oktoberfest celebration

The Village of Tinley Parks hosts an annual Oktoberfest celebration where residents can enjoy authentic German food, a variety of community vendors, live music, carnival rides and more. The Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre – formerly known as the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre – is located in Tinley Park and serves as one of the biggest music venues in the country, with sponsorship from Live Nation.
