Downtown Toledo is a short drive from Glendale-Heatherdowns.
Suburbia with lots of amenities
Down river from Downtown Toledo, Glendale-Heatherdowns is a community for homebuyers who want the conveniences of an urban neighborhood with the tranquility of a suburban setting. Winding tree-lined streets, some more densely forested than others, reveal a mix of mostly mid-century homes. Some homeowners have taken care to establish front yard gardens with ring gardens being popular. “We have a lot of other suburban areas, but you get a lot more house for the price here,” says Keith Degnan, Realtor with Key Realty. “There are big yards and mature trees – it’s absolutely beautiful in the fall.” At any given time, one will see kids playing in those yards, playing basketball in the driveway, leaping into leaf piles or riding bikes through the family-oriented community. “Houses are usually on the market less than a month here. Two weeks or less in general,” Degnan says.

Brick-faced bungalows and ranch-style homes predominate the landscape, while other styles are sprinkled in. Home prices are less than those in neighboring Southwyck. Lots vary in size from an eighth of an acre to one-third of an acre, and paved driveways lead to attached garages.
