Northampton

A golf club with European influence
Several separate subdivisions call Northampton home. Northampton Forest has a distinct sense of whimsey; tall pines and oaks envelop German-inspired Tudor homes priced between $460,000 and $550,000, while Auburn Lakes offers neo-traditional housing, some with lakefront views, at a similar price point. The neo-traditional housing trend expands to Hampton Oaks; however, properties are often spaced out with privacy fences and a price tag closer to $600,000. Larger plots of land often exceed $1 million. The French-inspired brick estates of Augusta Pines often sell for around $800,000, apart from a few larger homes reaching $1.3 million.Students are inKleined to succeed
Klein Independent School District is named after one of the area's first settlers and serves over 54,000 students. Northampton's youngest may attend Northampton Elementary School, which earns an impressive A-minus Niche score. Students can then attend Hildebrandt Intermediate School before moving on to Klein Oak High School, earning a B-plus and A Niche grade, respectively.Willow Creek and Augusta Pines
Northampton has a ton of nearby parks, but the main draw is its golfing community. The most notable courses, Willow Creek Golf Club and Augusta Pines Golf Club, are at its heart. Towards the east are Spring Valley's Golf and Disc Golf courses. Hikers enjoy Spring Creek Nature Trail, a 14-mile natural path that wraps around Creekside Park and Northampton. Canoes, kayaks and nature photographers traverse the wetlands along Spring Creek and Cypress Creek. Nearby Lake Woodlands offers Northshore Park, a waterfront space with playgrounds and an open field to host outdoor concerts in the summer. Locals beat the Texas heat at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Waterpark, the largest waterpark in southeast Texas, 10 miles away.A country cooking community near Northampton
Parkway Marketplace features a local Target, while Kuykendahl Road offers Bigotes Street Tacos, Craft Grill, fast food, gas stations and Kroger. Old Town Tomball is home to antique shops, Chocolate Craftory's BBQ and the award-winning Tomball Farmers Market on Main Street near Town Center on Saturdays. "Mel's Country Cafe is a community staple here, but they're temporarily closed because of a horrible fire," says Candice Williams, an employee with The City of Tomball's Parks Department. "But they're rebuilding with the help of a community who loves them." A GoFundMe was set up to help support the employees of the family-owned café off Stanolind Road. And, just outside of the neighborhood, The Butler is a great excuse to dine out with sophistication.
Embracing German-Texan Roots in Tomball
March brings the well-known German Heritage Festival, and GroovFest hits the streets in September. "We dance in ridiculous retro outfits with live music," Williams says. "It's a pretty good time for everyone when we're together." The Woodlands Children's Museum and Tomball Bowl are two favorite ways to spend a Saturday around Northampton. The Tomball Community Center in Old Town offers volleyball, Zumba, yoga, bridge and even quilting classes. However, at the heart of Old Town is The Depot, an old train station. "The Depot has a ton of festivals and events. It's strange to think how many we have," William says. "The German Christmas Market is a big deal; we decorate this big tree before it lights up. There's local art and hand-made clothes for sale, and kids riding carnival rides. You name it – it's there."A tee-rific Northampton ride home
Locals cruise around roadways on golf carts; however, most households have at least one car to get around on Main Street. Katy, The Woodlands, Kingwood and Houston are accessible by Tomball Parkway Toll Road. For immediate medical care, Tomball Regional Medical Center is located just off Holderrieth Boulevard.A drought with a solution
Currently facing a prolonged hot, dry spell, Tomball has implemented watering restrictions to conserve water resources, aligning with the adopted Water Conservation and Drought Contingency Plan.
