There are a lot of parks. The schools are good. It’s really close to amenities and it’s really close to Buffalo,” says Charles Glander, a broker with Avant Realty, who has been selling homes in the area for seven years. “If you don’t want to live in the city, but you work in Buffalo, it’s still an easy commute.”

Those looking to move to Riverview will find homes primarily built from the 1940s through the 1960s. They come in a range of styles, including Cape Cods, ranch homes and split levels. They commonly rest on sidewalk-lined streets with compact lawns and established shrubbery.

A cozy, two-bedroom, one-bathroom cottage goes for around $160,000, while a more spacious three-bedroom, two-bath home costs around $200,000. “It’s a strong market. If a home is priced correctly, it sells within a week,” Glander says. “The homes there are affordable and they aren’t really large. It’s a good place for first-time home buyers or someone who wants to downsize.”

Award-winning pizza at Romeo & Juliet's
Riverview is primarily residential and beyond a 7-Eleven, on Sheridan Drive, there’s not much in the way of retail. However, following Sheridan Drive just a mile outside the neighborhood leads to plenty of nationally recognized shopping and dining options, including Aldi discount grocery, Panera Bread and Rite Aid. For dining out, Mitchell’s Tavern, on Sheridan Drive, is known as the place to go for a hot roast beef sandwich and a cold beer, while cheering on the Buffalo Bills football team. Romeo & Juliet’s, also on Sheridan Drive, is a local favorite for award-winning pizza and Italian desserts.

Kenmore-Tonawanda Union Free School District
Public school students may attend Holmes Elementary, Herbert Hoover Middle and Kenmore West Senior High. The middle and high schools earn B Niche grades, while the elementary school scores a C. Nicknamed Ken-West, famous alumni from the high school include CNN news anchor, Wolf Blitzer.
Hoover Middle School in Buffalo has over 800 students.
Kenmore West Senior High School in Buffalo was established in 1939.

Feed the ducks at Aqua Lane Park
For outdoor fun, hop on the paved Shoreline Trail, which runs along Woodward Avenue West, and ride or walk all the way to Aqua Lane Park. At the nearly 60-acre park, residents can fish along the banks of the Niagara River, watch their kids frolic on the playground or feed the ducks.
The shoreline trail goes right along Riverview following the Niagara River.
Aqua Lane Park offers some great sunset views right next to Riverview.
