A tiny town with access to Decatur
A general store, a post office and a depot. Those three buildings were all that stood in Trinity in the 1840s, and the town’s residents felt like it was all they needed — so much so that the town was named after its trio of amenities. The town has grown in the years since, but it remains small: its population was recently around 2,500. Though the city of Decatur is close by, as are other town centers, its residents value the community’s relaxed attitude. “It’s a getaway from city life,” says Philip Wright, a Realtor with MeritHouse Realty who has family in Trinity. “It’s centrally located, but it has a small-town feel.”

The community is mostly ranch-style homes with brick exteriors, though New Traditional homes are also available. Dense wooded areas often fill the spaces between houses. The town hosts an annual Christmas Parade and hands out cash prizes for the best floats. Trinity Fest, an event featuring food trucks, live music and cornhole competitions, is held in the fall. The event raises funds for local and international nonprofit organizations. The town’s many churches are active in the community, creating care packages for local teachers being one way they give back.
