A popular suburb with access to outdoor spaces and retail areas
As its name implies, Trumbull Center sits at the heart of Trumbull, a Connecticut town known for its spacious parks, classic New England homes and retail options. “Trumbull has that peaceful, bucolic setting, while still having all your resources people don’t want to give up,” says Paula Bachman, broker/owner at Property Choices Real Estate, who grew up in Trumbull. “The center has the lakes and Twin Brooks Park, but the Trumbull Mall is right nearby.” Established as a farming community in the 1700s, Trumbull has evolved into an active, well-connected community in Fairfield County, where locals meet up at annual events like Trumbull Day and neighborhood gathering places like the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Calvary Evangelical Free Church and the Armenian Church of the Holy Ascension. The neighborhood's low-key atmosphere contributes to its CAP index crime score of 2 out of 10, where 1 is the lowest possible score.
From ranches and split-levels to Colonial Revivals
Houses are organized in quiet subdivisions, which often feature tree-lined streets and lawns with neat landscaping. Communities of townhouse-style condos in colonial-inspired designs were built in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Many of these condos are located in 55-plus neighborhoods with HOAs and usually cost between $400,000 and $600,000. Ranch-style homes, Cape Cods and Colonial Revivals from the mid-1900s are common in Trumbull Center, and most are priced between $500,000 and $900,000, though spacious properties cost more. Large Capes with waterfront access on Pinewood Lake can cost as much as $1.2 million.

Trumbull Day draws large crowds
Locals gather for annual events, the largest of which is in June, celebrating the town. “Trumbull Day always has a big turnout. There’s a whole carnival with fireworks,” Bachman says. A Ferris wheel spins in the background as musicians take the main stage and people stroll the fields, buying snacks from local food trucks. Neighbors also join the larger Trumbull community for the Easter egg hunt in the spring and fall festival in October; both are held at Town Hall. From May to October, fresh produce and homemade goods are displayed on neat tables at the Thursday Trumbull Farmers Market, held at Twin Brooks Park.
