From ranches and split-levels to Colonial Revivals
Houses are organized in quiet subdivisions, which often feature tree-lined streets and lawns with neat landscaping. Communities of townhouse-style condos in colonial-inspired designs were built in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Many of these condos are located in 55-plus neighborhoods with HOAs and usually cost between $400,000 and $600,000. Ranch-style homes, Cape Cods and Colonial Revivals from the mid-1900s are common in Trumbull Center, and most are priced between $500,000 and $900,000, though spacious properties cost more. Large Capes with waterfront access on Pinewood Lake can cost as much as $1.2 million.Array of outdoor opportunities in Trumbull
There are plenty of outdoor spaces in Trumbull Center, with Twin Brooks Park among the most popular. Residents drive through a covered bridge as they enter the park, where they can go walking or jogging on nature trails that wind past ponds and open fields. Kids climb on the playground or glide down the sledding hill in the winter. For more athletic recreation, there's Unity Park, where neighbors meet for pickleball or tennis matches and little league teams practice on the baseball diamonds. Near the park, hikers pick up the Pequonnock Valley Greenway, a 9-mile trail that meanders through forests and past waterways. In the summer, community members cool off at the public pool at Robert G. Beach Memorial Park, which is free for Trumbull residents.Trumbull schools earn As

Locals gather for annual events, the largest of which is in June, celebrating the town. “Trumbull Day always has a big turnout. There’s a whole carnival with fireworks,” Bachman says. A Ferris wheel spins in the background as musicians take the main stage and people stroll the fields, buying snacks from local food trucks. Neighbors also join the larger Trumbull community for the Easter egg hunt in the spring and fall festival in October; both are held at Town Hall. From May to October, fresh produce and homemade goods are displayed on neat tables at the Thursday Trumbull Farmers Market, held at Twin Brooks Park.Just a 2-mile drive south, Beardsley Zoo has more than 500 animals, including Asian lions, Siberian tigers and Andean bears. From September through December, the Zoo puts on its Glow Wild festival, where guests walk through sparkling lighting displays.

Commuters merge onto the Merritt Parkway
Residents rely on cars to get around the neighborhood and commute to work. "The Merritt Parkway goes right through Trumbull, so it's easy to hop on and drive to New Haven," Bachman says of the city 20 miles northeast. Manhattan is 65 miles southwest via Interstate 95 and the Hutchinson River Parkway, but many New York City commuters take the Metro-North railroad because of how dense the traffic can be. Meanwhile, it takes about two hours for the New Haven line to go from Bridgeport to Grand Central Terminal. Bus service is available between Trumbull and Bridgeport.Local restaurants and shopping at the Trumbull Mall
The Trumbull Mall, located 3 miles from the neighborhood, is the largest retail hub in the area. Shoppers peruse well-known stores like Macy's, Target, Old Navy and JCPenney. Nearby supermarkets like Stop & Shop and Target Grocery make grocery shopping convenient as well. In the neighborhood, locals head to White Plains Road for a few dining options. Trumbull Cafe & Grill serves brunch dishes like avocado toast and waffles in a modern, cozy environment. There are fresh sushi rolls and hibachi dishes at Ichiro Japanese. Locals order pizza and burgers at Old Towne Restaurant, a casual diner. Trumbull is only a couple of miles north of the most populated city in Connecticut, so residents may drive to downtown Bridgeport to go out to eat.
