Most homes in the neighborhood are ranch-style single-family homes built in the 1960s, but there are a few condo buildings as well. Homes sit on winding neighborhood streets, many of which offer mountain views, lined with sidewalks, xeriscaped front yards and palm trees. Houses are built close together in this neighborhood; the median lot size in the neighborhood is one-twentieth of an acre. Prices range from around $85,000, which could afford a one-bedroom condo, to the mid-$400,000s, which can afford a remodeled four-bedroom single-family home.

Get out close to home or hiking in the Rincon Mountains
The Chuck Huckelberry Loop, often just called “The Loop,” runs along the Pantano Wash and is walkable from many houses. This trail system connects several parks and runs for more than 130 miles. Residents can explore the trail on foot or by bike. Alternatively, Jesse Owens Park is right in the neighborhood, next to the elementary school, and offers playground equipment, athletic fields and a swimming pool with no admission fee required. There are also multiple spots to go hiking in the mountains close by; one of the entrances to Saguaro National Park is about 6 miles from home. Even on rainy days, there’s still plenty of recreation around; a YMCA, skating rink, bowling alley and 24-hour gym are all within walking distance of many homes.

Tucson Unified schools close to home
Kids in Broadway Pantano East attend Tucson Unified School District schools like Harold Steele Elementary School, rated C-plus by Niche; Gridley Middle School, rated B-minus; and Sahuaro High School, rated B. Sahuaro High offers a Career and Technical Education program where students can take courses in six disciplines, including Computer Science and Sports Medicine. Students even have the opportunity to qualify for internships so they can start building their resumes prior to entering the workforce or continuing their studies.

Getting around the greater Tucson area
Residents can catch the local bus at bus stops located at multiple spots throughout the neighborhood, particularly along South Pantano Road, East Broadway Boulevard and East 22nd Street. Homeowners in Broadway East are also convenient to Tucson International Airport, about 15 miles away.

Local shopping and dining within walking distance
Most of the neighborhood is residential, but along its borders, residents can find plenty of shopping and dining options. Residents can head to the local Walmart Neighborhood Market or Sprouts Farmers Market for groceries, Ace Hardware for home improvement supplies and Dollar Tree for other odds and ends. Fast food options include Taco Bell, Carl’s Jr. and Church’s Texas Chicken, but there are plenty of unique places to grab a bite as well. Salsa Verde is a popular restaurant where the owners put their own fresh takes on classic Mexican dishes. Jeff's Pub Sports Bar & Grill is the friendly neighborhood hangout where you can catch the game or have a casual meal. For more shopping options, Park Place Mall is within 4 miles of most homes and features stores like Dillard’s, Forever 21, Old Navy, Carter’s and Ulta Beauty. For all other needs, downtown Tucson is just 10 miles away.
