Serene desert community in eastside Tucson

In fact, Houghton is home to about 7,000 residents. Its visually stunning location sits between the snowy peaks of the Catalina Mountains to the north, and the vast Tucson Mountains to the southwest. Located in one of the most southeastern of Tucson suburbs, Houghton is surrounded by established neighboring communities including Saguaro Canyon to the south, Tanque Verde to the north and Rolling Hills Country Club to the west. A community with a wide open, spacious feel, Houghton has been named the 6th best neighborhood in which to buy a home by Niche. Tanisha Knutzen, Realtor with AZ Skyline Realty for more than 10 years, and a native of southeast Tucson seconds that award, “There’s a special feeling of relaxed friendliness in eastside Tucson neighborhoods. Houghton has a quiet, almost serene vibe, with its spectacular views and homes set at a nice distance from each other. Another key asset is its quick and close access to parks, freeways and the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.”
