Homes in Mesquite Ranch are typically stucco Spanish revival-style options. Barrel roof tiles complete the picture and two-car garages provide added convenience. Homes typically sell for between $340,000 to $495,000 and most were built in the early 2000s. Homes are on the larger side and fall between 1,600 and 3,000 square feet in size. Lot sizes tend to be smaller, however, and vary from 4,700 square feet to 8,000 square feet. Small front porches pair with sidewalks, encouraging dog walkers and joggers to get out and get to know their neighbors. Stone walls offer privacy and small trees provide limited shade. Desert-inspired landscaping doesn’t leave room for many lush green lawns, but it’s easy to maintain.
Public schools earn A ratings from Niche
Students in Mesquite Ranch can attend Senita Valley Elementary School. With about 660 students, the elementary school has a student-teacher ratio of 22 to 1, which is significantly higher than the national average of 15 to 1. Rincon Vista Middle School serves about 700 students with an even higher student-teacher ratio of 23 to 1. Vail Academy & High School has 470 students with a much lower student-teacher ratio of 7 to 1 and offers its students various engaging programs, from robotics team to math club to Future Business Leaders of America. All three schools receive an A rating from Niche.
Basketball courts, bike trails and playgrounds close to home
Stretch your legs at the nearby Sierro Morado Park where you can start a pickup game on the basketball court with friends while your little ones get some energy out on the playground. Civano North Pool is a great place to cool off. Or try out some new tricks at Fantasy Island Mountain Bike Park. If you’re more into long-distance biking, throw on your helmet and head for the Houghton Greenway, a paved biking path that follows along the edge of S Houghton Road. Joggers and dog walkers are welcome as well.
Food options range from quirky diners to national chains
The nearby Serial Grillers is another option known for putting a twist on American classics. With a light-hearted thriller theme, the restaurant welcomes all horror movie lovers to try dishes like Pennywise and Children of the Corn. Bruegger’s Bagels is nearby as well, a New York-based bagel chain known for its quality technique and authentic made-in-Vermont cream cheese. Choose from unique flavors like jalapeño and bacon scallion. Carl’s Jr. is another option with locally renowned smoky burgers, hand-scooped ice cream and flavorful sauces like flame-grilled chili, pepper jack and Santa Fe. Fry’s Grocery is close by to satisfy your grocery needs.
Access to major thoroughfares and downtown Tucson
With easy access to Interstate 10, Mesquite Ranch residents have access to endless additional amenities. The convenient location is just 20 miles southeast of Downtown Tucson and all it has to offer.
