Welcoming neighborhood between between the Catalina Mountains and the Tucson Mountains
Southeast Tucson neighborhoods are known for having a welcoming, relaxed and roomy vibe. Located right between the snowy peaks of the Catalina Mountains to the north, and the Tucson Mountains to the southwest, buyers will find South Harrison, one of the largest of these southeastern suburbs. Home to about 7,000 people, South Harrison has a mix of home sizes, abundant parks and well-regarded public, private and charter schools. Like many of its surrounding neighbors, South Harrison enjoys being just 12 miles from the second-largest city in Arizona while also being surrounded by breathtaking mountain views.
As visitors enter South Harrison they will find sparse suburbia. Subdivisions of small to mid-sized homes are laid out with plenty of space between residences. While homeowners walk, jog and bike through the neighborhood, they will drive cars when heading to schools, shopping and dining. The community sits between East Golf Links Road and South Houghton Road to the north and east. Its southwest edge is protected by the Pantano Wash, a naturally dry river bed that protects surrounding communities by dispersing overflows from rare but powerful rainstorms. Tanisha Knutzen, Realtor with AZ Skyline Realty for more than 10 years, and a native of southeast Tucson explains the appeal of South Harrison, “There’s a special feeling of relaxed friendliness in South Harrison. People who grew up around here tend to stay because they know the area well and don’t want to leave. This is also a great neighborhood for military families as it’s close to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.”

public services are wonderful, not many to say about it. but then again who would mention it. tucson isn't really a place where people have much to say. they just live their lives and stay to themselves. its a good place to live if you want to just keep to yourself and go about your day without needing any contact with any humans.

We have a variety of local parks within the community, however, the people the parks attract are questionable. Therefore, we do not attend any of the parks in the neighborhood.

Limited variety as this area is fairly remote and on the far eastside of town. Therefore, we are pretty limited to fast food restaurants.
