A few are stucco as well. And prices range from about $300,000 to $400,000,” Estrella says. Lots can be anywhere from 4,000 to 8,000 square feet in size. Landscaping is limited to creative stonework and a few sturdy trees offering shade. You’ll also see some artificial turf lawns. Carports are a common amenity, and covered back patios are a great place to entertain guests and help beat the Arizona heat.
Students in Stella Mann can attend Irene Erickson Elementary School, rated a C from Niche, which is known for being very involved with the community and encouraging students to walk to school. Delbert L. Secrist Middle School, which scores a C-plus, is another option that has a strong arts program and offers everything from chorus to drama to orchestra. Palo Verde High Magnet School receives a B rating on Niche, first opened in 1962 and is named after the native Palo Verde trees that surround the school.
Stretch your legs at Vista del Prado Park, where 8.5 acres of amenities include everything from baseball fields to a Little Free Library. Sit in the shade on a nearby bench while your little ones enjoy the playground. Escalante Park is a bit smaller but has no shortage of its own amenities, with horseshoe pits, a multipurpose field and grills and tables for an evening picnic. One of the neighborhood’s main attractions is the Aviation Bikeway, a trail loved by local cyclists thanks to fun features like Diamondback Bridge, which is designed to look like a snake, or sights of the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base’s famous boneyard, where out-of-service U.S. aircraft are gathered.
Start your day at Joe’s Pancake House, a local favorite thanks to its basic breakfast done right, which this family-run restaurant has been serving since 1984. For a meal bursting with island flavor, Solid Grindz Hawaiian BBQ is known for its big bang shrimp plate and teriyaki chicken. Cool off at Eegee’s which started as a frozen lemonade truck in 1971 and today serves everything from salads to grinders, accompanied by their iconic frozen drinks of course. You can pick up your groceries from the neighborhood Walmart or Fry’s.
Stella Mann is just 10 miles southeast of Downtown Tucson and 10 miles northwest of the Tucson International Airport.
