Homes in Stella Mann are predominantly ranch-style houses that range in size from 1,000 to 2,000 square feet. Many homes were built in the 1960s and 1970s with some new construction in the early 2000s as well. “Houses here rarely go up for sale but we’ve got a lot of one-story brick homes. A few are stucco as well. And prices range from about $300,000 to $400,000,” Estrella says. Lots can be anywhere from 4,000 to 8,000 square feet in size. Landscaping is limited to creative stonework and a few sturdy trees offering shade. You’ll also see some artificial turf lawns. Carports are a common amenity, and covered back patios are a great place to entertain guests and help beat the Arizona heat.
SchoolsStudents attend public and charter schools with varied programs
Students in Stella Mann can attend Irene Erickson Elementary School, rated a C from Niche, which is known for being very involved with the community and encouraging students to walk to school. Delbert L. Secrist Middle School, which scores a C-plus, is another option that has a strong arts program and offers everything from chorus to drama to orchestra. Palo Verde High Magnet School receives a B rating on Niche, first opened in 1962 and is named after the native Palo Verde trees that surround the school.
Parks offer playgrounds, ball fields and picnic-friendly spaces
Stretch your legs at Vista del Prado Park, where 8.5 acres of amenities include everything from baseball fields to a Little Free Library.
