For working families starting out
With its quick access to Highway 169 and Interstate 44 and an abundance of ranch-style homes priced less than most Tulsa neighborhoods, Columbus attracts homebuyers looking for convenience and a home they can afford. “These are mostly starter homes for families,” says Maureen Kile, a Realtor and broker with Coldwell Banker Select and a 20-year real estate veteran in the Tulsa area. “The neighborhood is predominately Spanish-speaking, and the people here are hard workers just starting out who want to become homeowners.” Brimming with Mexican restaurants, Hispanic markets and retail outlets that cater to Latinos, Columbus is also a cultural haven for Tulsa’s Latin American community.
Columbus neighborhood is located in East Tulsa OK, just East of Hwy 169.

Single-family ranches
Homes in Columbus are less expensive than in surrounding areas. They start at $165,000 and go as high as $280,000. Most are single-family ranch-style or traditional homes built in the ’50s, ’60s or early ’70s, with two-car garages, little or no front porches and covered back decks or patios overlooking massive, fenced yards. Many come with features like wood- or gas-burning fireplaces. There’s also a likely chance that even with the low prices, the property has recently been renovated. “Columbus is still considered East Tulsa, and houses are selling like crazy,” Kile says. “Most homes are clean and well-kept and don’t stay on the market long.”
