Where Interstate 44 meets Route 64
Two major highways converge in Fulton, located midway between Tulsa and its Broken Arrow suburb. The residential streets feel far removed from the scurry of the city, but in fact, downtown Tulsa is less than 8 miles away. This Oklahoma neighborhood’s convenient location appeals to residents of all ages. “It’s a melting pot of couples starting families and a more mature audience that’s been there for a little while,” says Marie McManus, Realtor with RE/MAX Results. “It’s a great family neighborhood, centrally located. You can hop on a highway and be in the Rose District in Broken Arrow in 15 minutes, or you can be downtown in 15 minutes.” Fulton is also a short drive from the Gathering Place, Tulsa’s famed riverfront park.
MetroLink on South Memorial Drive
MetroLink Tulsa, formerly known as Tulsa Transit, serves the Fulton area with several city bus routes. A series of stops punctuate South Memorial Drive, with more located near the Park & Ride on East 33rd Street. Commuters can expect a 15-minute drive to downtown Tulsa, and it also takes about that long to drive to the airport via Route 169.

Ranch-style homes from the 1960s
Many of Fulton’s single-story ranch-style homes date to the 1960s and feature cross-gabled roofs and attached garages. That’s the prevalent housing style in this part of Tulsa, but some split-levels and two-story capes are also in the mix. Rows of mature trees provide shade to the residential streets, which form a patchwork of well-tended lots measuring about a quarter acre apiece. Sidewalks are rare, so the streets aren’t overly pedestrian-friendly, but fortunately, there’s not much through traffic. Prices start in the low $200,000 range for a 3-bedroom starter home and climb to $300,000 for larger builds.
There are many brick homes available in the Fulton neighborhood.

Beat the heat at Briarwood Pool
For years, neighborhood kids have splish-splashed in the Briarwood Pool, a cool blue gem within the confines of a tidy park. After drying off, visitors can take a spin on the merry-go-round, organize an afternoon classic on the baseball diamond or settle into one of the shelters for a picnic. Nearby, Terrace Park invites joggers and walkers to get moving on the paved exercise trail.
Skelly Elementary School is part of the Tulsa Public School system.
School days at Skelly Elementary
Most Fulton students attend Skelly Elementary through the 6th grade before moving on to Hale Middle School. Both schools are nearby and earn a C-minus from Niche. Next comes Nathan Hale High School, which earns a C. Students at Nathan Hale High can take part in digital media and culinary programs in addition to extracurricular clubs and competitive sports. Fulton is the home of Town & Country School, Oklahoma’s only private full-day school geared toward students with learning differences, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and autism spectrum disorder. Also in the neighborhood is Tulsa Tech’s Lemley Memorial Campus. As the technical school’s original flagship campus, Lemley focuses on engineering and healthcare career training.
Bike gear and Boot Barn
Fulton is a primarily residential neighborhood, with a few shops and chain restaurants along South Memorial Drive. Residents can enjoy homestyle breakfast food all day at IHOP and Cracker Barrel. Boot Barn sells Western-style apparel and footwear suitable for weekends at the rodeo. And at Route 66 Harley-Davidson, bikers stock up on gear and browse the showroom to find their latest ride. When it’s time to stock the fridge, there’s a Walmart Neighborhood Market just outside the neighborhood on South Garnett Road.
