Variety of housing types on large grassy lawns
The Cumberland Estates has an eclectic mix of older stately homes and new developments, all under the shade of towering east Texas pine trees. Houses and lot sizes run large, with the average square footage of a single-family residence well above the national average. Ranch-style homes with brick, exteriors, and gabled roofs are the predominant style, although Tudor revivals and Colonials can also be found scattered throughout the rural enclave. Large grassy lawns are common in the front, and numerous properties have backyard swimming pools to cool off during the summer months. “It’s really just a good area,” says LeMay-Williams. “The lots tend to be a bit bigger, and there are no HOAs.” Older single-family homes are priced between $350,000 and $550,000, while newly constructed builds run from $600,000 up to $800,000, depending on the number of bedrooms and square footage.
