Interconnected gated community in South Naples
With an easy-to-navigate layout and a distinctive lake and shopping district in the middle of it all, it’s hard to get lost in Verona Walk. The gated South Naples neighborhood is built to be interconnected, with flat walking paths and bridges uniting every street. Each walkway leads to the Town Center, which has everything from gas pumps to restaurants, all exclusive to residents. The front gate provides extra security to the neighborhood, and its location keeps it close to both public and private golfing options.
Private shopping and dining at the Town Center
The highlight of life in Verona Walk is the Town Center in the middle of the community. The shopping plaza has resident-exclusive shops and hosts events like a weekly farmers market. “You have an ice cream shop, an Italian restaurant, their own gas station, a beauty shop and a post office,” says Nina Burkhardt, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Realty, who has worked in Naples for over 20 years. “You don’t have to leave to do much because you have the Town Center. It’s really what sells people on the area.” Outside Verona Walk, Stock Plaza on Collier Boulevard has casual restaurants, like Skillets and Off the Rock Tavern, and finer dining, like Saki Japanese Kitchen. The closest larger grocery stores are Publix and The Fresh Market on Tamiami Trail. The major road also has houses of worship, including St. Demetrius Orthodox Church and Lely Presbyterian Church.
Villas and houses around Verona Walk’s lake
Verona Walk features one-story villa units, two-story townhouses and detached single-family homes with lanai-screened patios and pools. All these properties have a coastal, Mediterranean-inspired look, with peach and white-colored exteriors and tile roofs. Nearly every property has a view of Verona Walk’s central lake, which is surrounded by palm-shaded walking paths and bridges. These walkways connect every residential street to the Town Center. Villas and townhouses sell for $450,000 to $650,000, while single-family homes can be $600,000 to $1 million. The gated community has a CAP Index Crime Score of 2 out of 10, below the national average. South Naples can be prone to seasonal flooding, and part of the area was damaged during Hurricane Ian in 2022.
Less than 2 miles from golf at Lely Resort
While Verona Walk does not have its own golf courses, many tee time options are nearby. Public courses, like Lely Resort’s Mustang and Flamingo Island courses, and equity golf, like The Classic Country Club and Eagle Creek Golf, are within 2 miles. The community is inland and about 15 miles from the closest public beach, Lowdermilk Park. During Naples’ tourist season, which falls between January and April, driving to the shore can take twice as long as it does during the summer. “Some people used to have to drive four hours to the beach where they lived before, so they don’t mind being 45 minutes away on a busy day in the winter,” says Michael Barnebee, a Realtor with Waterfront Realty Group who has lived in Naples for over 25 years.
A-rated Collier County Public Schools
Collier County Public Schools has an A rating on Niche, and local schools like Lely Elementary School, Manatee Middle School and Lely High School all have B grades. Lely High School students have the opportunity to earn college credits at the local Florida SouthWestern State College campus. Students in the dual enrollment program can work toward earning an Associate of Arts degree by the time they graduate high school.
Halfway between Old Naples and Marco Island
Verona Walk is 10 miles from the Old Naples district to the north and Marco Island to the south. The main highway connecting the two cities is Tamiami Trail, also called Highway 41. Daily Collier Area Transit (CAT) bus routes also travel around Verona Walk and stop at Physicians Regional Hospital, South Regional Library and attractions like the Naples Botanical Garden. Southwest Florida International Airport, the closest commercial airport, is 46 miles away in Fort Myers.
