A Wakefield neighborhood along Lake Quannapowitt
The 27,000-person Boston suburb of Lakeside is home to Lake Quannapowitt, a manmade lake with city parks along its shoreline. To the east of the lake is a neighborhood aptly named Lakeside, filled primarily with single-family homes with an elementary school in the middle and several family-owned restaurants scattered throughout. The neighborhood is home to Massachusetts’ largest annual Fourth of July Parade, provides access to Interstate 95 and MBTA buses and sits just north of Downtown Wakefield, where most of the city’s shops and restaurants are located. “You can walk to the lake, you can walk around the entire lake, and you can walk to downtown, where all the shops and restaurants are,” says local Realtor Laurie Hunt.
