Terrace Heights
There are level homes in Terrace Heights
Forests surround the neighborhood on nearly all sides, buffering it from commercial areas. Within the community, narrow sidewalks are common, but not throughout, and narrow backstreets lead to detached garages and parking behind homes. Generally, however, residents park on the street or utilize driveways and attached garages. Homes are primarily single-family split-levels, Cape Cods and ranch-styles from the 1950s to the ‘70s with three to four bedrooms, mostly not bigger than 2,000 square feet. Prices range between $30,000 and $190,000, with homes on the lower end needing renovation. The First Street website, which tracks environmental concerns, puts some homes in this neighborhood in the moderate fire risk category due to bordering wooded areas at risk of wildfire. Nearby houses of worship include Morning Star Baptist Church, Shiloh Apostolic Faith Church and the nondenominational Impact Church. Two schools in Terrace Heights
Hancock County School District serves the neighborhood with Weirton Elementary housing kindergarten through fourth grade about 3-and-a-half miles east. The school gets a B-plus grade on Niche and has a student-teacher ratio of 14-to-1. Students feed into Weir Middle School beginning in fifth grade before entering Weir High School after eighth grade. Both schools in the chain are in the neighborhood and earn B-minus grades. Weir High works with West Virginia Northern Community College in Weirton to offer dual enrollment courses. The athletic fields are behind the school, meaning that the crowd from the Red Rider home football games may be heard in parts of the neighborhood. Private school options include St. Joseph the Worker Grade School and, across the street, Weirton Madonna High School, a Catholic school that gets a B grade.Dining and shopping on the east side of Weirton

Bowman Field, a baseball diamond used by Little League and adult recreation leagues. For outdoor recreation, Williams Golf and Country Club is northwest of downtown, and members enjoy a course layout that sits above the nearby Ohio River, offering scenic vistas of the majestic waterway. Amenities include access to the course restaurant and banquet facilities. North of the neighborhood on the other side of Pennsylvania Avenue is Steve Dorich Memorial Park, with a playground, basketball court and picnic pavilion.Weirton Event Center has concerts and events
