This community offers a collection of mostly multi-level homes built between the mid-1990s and the early 2000s. Driveways and attached garages are standard. Well-manicured lawns front sidewalks. Back yards are larger, and many have in-ground pools. This area is home to several man-made lakes and has a surrounding wooded landscape that adds to the attractiveness and helps as a noise buffer. Several streets end in cul-de-sacs, which offer an additional layer of privacy.
HOA fees are minimal, but homeowners are subject to Community Development District fees. CDD fees go toward maintaining the community’s appearance and upkeep of amenities and infrastructure.
Prices range from around $300,000 to the mid-$600,000s. Flooding is not typically a factor in the area, but Welsey Chapel was hit hard by Hurricane Milton in 2024. Homeowners should be aware that even without flooding, wind damage is a major risk during hurricane season, and insurance rates likely reflect that.
Northwood Clubhouse is the center of activity. Residents can relax at the community pool, play tennis and basketball and take advantage of a playground. For boaters and anglers, the bayfront is about 30 minutes from the community, and popular coastal destinations such as Clearwater are about an hour away.
Target anchors the conveniently located Northwoods Center, part of a cluster of retail options just blocks from the community’s front gate on County Line Road. The Shoppes at New Tampa and the Shops at Wiregrass are located within 2 miles and are quickly accessible from the other side of the community. The retail centers offer dozens of dining choices. More restaurants can be found just outside the community along Florida State Route 56, including Florida Avenue Brewing Co. and Green Market Café.
Students can attend a trio of well-rated Pasco County schools. Denham Oaks Elementary School, located across the Interstate 75, is B-rated by Niche. Dr. John Long Middle School and Wiregrass Ranch High School, rated A-minus and A, respectively, are within walking distance of each other and more conveniently located to the community. The high school features its fine arts curriculum, which caters to aspiring singers, musicians and actors.
Residents have access to the junction of Interstates 75 and 275. The interchange is a 5-minute drive from the community’s front gate. I-75 provides access throughout the Gulf Coast, while downtown Tampa and the Tampa International Airport are both about 25 miles away via I-275. Closer to home, residents can catch the bus along nearby Florida 56. Local destinations include Advent Health Wesley Chapel, less than 3 miles from the community.
