Driving along Main Avenue, most folks won't notice as they pass by Pinewood, a small suburban neighborhood that offers residents a convenient location and a family-friendly atmosphere. "It's a very quiet neighborhood, which people like, but I'd say a bigger draw is that it's close to all the essentials," says Stephen Sweere, a local Realtor who sells with The Chad Schwendeman Real Estate Group. Though Pinewood may feel like it's tucked away from the city, folks living here can get to many of West Fargo's amenities within a quick 5-minute drive. Local parks, restaurants, grocery stores, and the West Fargo Public Library—which offers weekly story times and craft hours for youth and families—are all just half a mile away. A playground sits at the center of the Pinewood neighborhood, providing a walkable greenspace, while the Sheyenne River runs right behind several of the community's homes. Just 5 miles from the center of Downtown Fargo, Pinewood is a suburb offering convenience and proximity to nature.

Relatively affordable Fargo homes with townhouse options
Turning away from the busy shops and industry along Main Avenue, Pinewood's residents come home to grassy front yards and residential streets shaded by leafy maples and willow oaks. Homes in this neighborhood were built from as early as the 1920s well into the 2000s. A handful of wood-sided cottages and ramblers are found in the western half of Pinewood, showcasing West Fargo's early days; while more recent construction features split-levels or traditional architectural designs. Many also include attached garages and rear patios that make it easy for residents to spend time outside. "Young families and first-time homebuyers in particular tend to appreciate the neighborhood for its affordability," says Sweere, explaining that older, two-bedroom properties can sell for as low as $150,000, while recently built options can sell for as high as $310,000 dollars. For those looking for something smaller, the community also features a selection of single-story townhouses that sell from about $200,000 to $275,000.
