Located on the westernmost edge of the city, Sheyenne Park is a suburban neighborhood that offers a family-friendly environment and close proximity to parks within walking distance. "Sheyenne Park is a good place to move with young kids," says Roland Kovalenoks, a local Realtor with Re/Max Legacy who's been selling homes since 2004. "There are lots of young families, so they'll have lots of friends there," says Kovalenoks. Removed from the commercial parts of West Fargo, streets in the neighborhood are peaceful enough for families to enjoy bike rides together or to walk to nearby soccer and baseball fields. Local community events on Sheyenne Street also bring folks from across West Fargo to the area for family fun, adding to the small-town atmosphere. The only industry in the immediate area is the local grocery store, though plenty of West Fargo's shopping and other amenities can be found less than 2 miles away.
1990s homes for first-time homebuyers
A small neighborhood, Sheyenne Park is made up of just a few winding residential streets and cul-de-sacs. Lots tend to be tidy and closely spaced, with up to a quarter-acre and grassy, fenced-in backyards. Built through the late 1980s and '90s, most homes in the neighborhood offer vinyl-sided, traditional exteriors and front-facing garages that make it easy to get inside from North Dakota's harsh winters. Kovalenoks describes them as "Great entry-level homes," and explains that the neighborhood is full of first-time homebuyers because it's one of the few areas where people can still find a four-bedroom home for under $300,000 dollars. Most properties sell from as low as $250,000 to about $315,000 dollars. Those looking for something smaller can also find duplex townhouses selling from about $180,000 to $230,000 dollars.
Sheyenne Park is also home to split-level homes with spacious front yards.
Many of the split-level homes in Sheyenne Park offer brick accents.

Area dining includes local institutions like Thunder Coffee and Sandy's Donuts, the latter of which has been serving over 75 flavors of donuts since 1983. Folks can also grab a pulled-pork sandwich from Silver Dollar Bar & Flying Pig Grill or head over to Blarney Stone Pub. Kovalenoks recommends ordering the special of the day and dishes like the Reuben Pubwich and beef barley soup are always delicious.
