Suburban West Fargo living with walkable amenities

Less than 6 miles west of Fargo, the suburban neighborhood of Sukut’s offers convenience paired with community. In the face of West Fargo’s ongoing development and expansion, Sukut’s fosters a family-friendly and collaborative ambiance through resources like the West Fargo Public Library, which sits at the heart of the neighborhood. Ellen Dethoe, regional manager of the West Fargo Public Library says, “I love seeing people of all ages coming out for the programs and activities we offer on a weekly and monthly basis.” Whether it’s an English-language learning group or an arts and crafts program for youth, the library serves as a welcoming anchor for its diverse community. With public programs and a convenient location that fosters a know-your-neighbor atmosphere, the Sukut's neighborhood sets up its residents to take things slow and enjoy what matters most in life.

Midcentury Dakota charm and affordably priced homes

Sukut's residential streets give off a vintage vibe with many homes here featuring design elements from the 1950s and ‘60s. Personalized styles are common here, along with midcentury architectural details like wide windows, stone facades and wood siding. From single-story ranch-styles to quaint cottages, many homes are painted in bright colors or have added-on porches, while garages are either attached in the front or detached in the back. With an average sales price of just $224,000, homes in Sukut's are considered relatively affordable for the area. Cottages spanning 1,000 square feet can sell for as low as $120,000 to $200,000 dollars, while larger traditional homes with up to four bedrooms and over 2,000 square feet tend to sell for between $250,000 to $330,000 dollars. Backyards tend to have enough room for a large, shady tree or two, a playset, or maybe a shed, while streets are tree-lined and shaded by a leafy canopy of oaks. Some homes feature picket fencing around the property, while others display carefully cultivated landscaping. Rosebushes dot front yards and backyard gardens flourish under residents' watchful eyes in spring and summer.

Completely public, the pool offers multi-story water slides and water fountains for kids to play in. In colder months, skaters and hockey players alike gather at Veterans Memorial Arena.
