Newly built suburban living just 7 miles west of Fargo

Located on the westernmost edge of the city and entirely developed since the year 1999, the Westwynd neighborhood is proof of West Fargo's rapid expansion in the past few decades. Even though Westwynd borders rural farmland, residents still have easy access to plenty of attractions, both throughout the greater Fargo area and in their own area. "Fargo and West Fargo have expanded to be basically the same. They're two cities but also connected and hooked into each other, so folks come here to see the Red River Valley Fairgrounds or head into Fargo to watch the Bison play at the Fargodome," says Tammie Gerbet, a local property manager at Westbrook Apartment Complex. Despite the rapid growth of the West Fargo area, Westwynd residents have still managed to find ways to help one another and form a sense of community through local organizations and programs like the car care ministry at Living Hope Baptist Church. Once a month, folks gather to do repairs and service on community members' vehicles for free, given that the owner buys the parts. "Fargo is like the big brother, with all the bells and whistles, but I've found West Fargo to be a very welcoming and caring community and it's really growing into its own too," says Tanner Olson, pastor at LHBC.

Surrounded by wooden fencing, outdoor spaces have enough space for folks to tend to a garden or swim in a backyard pool, while front yards feature closely mowed lawns and young ornamental trees. On the exteriors of homes, buyers will notice traditional architectural elements like vinyl siding and A-shaped roofs, mixed with occasional Classical Revival attributes like columns or stone and brick facades.
