Andros Isle
From townhomes to villas
Built in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Andros Isle comprises several gated communities. Some feature condominiums; others specialize in townhouses. The largest, Andros Isle, offers villas, townhouses, and single-family homes designed around resort-style amenities. For example, the pool and spa at the clubhouse are heated, and the fitness center, billiards room, and tennis and basketball courts are for residents only. What unifies the neighborhood is its Mediterranean style — red-tiled roofs, stucco walls — and its cost of living. Homes in Andros Isle are more reasonably priced than neighborhoods closer to downtown. In fact, they’re nearly half as much. An attached villa in Andros Isle lists at $390,000, and a townhouse in Oakton Preserve runs $500,000, while a three-bedroom single-family home in Andros Isle lists at $595,000. Homes in Palm Beach Lakes or other comparable communities start at $700,000 and can run as high as $2.5 million.Apoxee Trail and natural areas
Apoxee Trail sits along Jog Road, less than two miles from the community, and is a popular 2.5-mile trail that runs along wetlands to the north, providing visitors with peaceful walks alongside nature. Winding Waters Natural Area is right next door, and is home to 548 acres of outdoor opportunities. Visitors can enjoy birdwatching while kayaking or biking along its trails. Though a popular park, guests will find it easy to find a place to park.Florida State Fairgrounds
A quick 3-mile trip takes residents to the South Florida Fairgrounds, a 135-acre complex that hosts the annual South Florida Fair and dozens of expos, shows, festivals and special events throughout the year. Sitting within the same complex is the iThink Financial Amphitheatre, which brings in big-name bands and musicians every month.Eating and shopping along Okeechobee Boulevard
Residents of Andros Isle don’t have to venture more than 15 minutes for their everyday needs. In fact, those living in Andros Isle can take an access road within the community to the Publix Super Market on Okeechobee Boulevard. Situated along Okeechobee Boulevard to the west is a Target and several restaurants along the way. One of those is Bimini Twist, an upscale eatery that many residents reserve for birthdays and date nights and is best known for its sea scallops over lobster risotto. Two miles east along Okeechobee Boulevard sits Pete’s Place, which Mercado calls “one of the best breakfast and lunch spots in South Florida.” The restaurant is appreciated for its fresh eats, from fruit-topped French toast to crispy BLTs to nicely proportioned Cobb salads. The schools of Andros Isle
Young students can begin their journey at Benoist Farms Elementary School, which has earned a C from Niche. Older students will head to Jeaga Middle School, which has also received a C from Niche, before heading to Palm Beach Lakes Community High School. The high school has earned a C-plus from Niche and offers AICE courses, which work with Cambridge University to excel the academic studies of its students.Commuting from the neighborhood
Residents can reach West Palm Bach in a convenient 8.5-mile drive east along Okeechobee Boulevard. Sitting an even closer, a 6.9-mile commute via Belvedere Road, is Palm Beach International Airport. Those seeking medical attention can conveniently access the HCA Florida Palm West Hospital through a 6.5-mile trip along Okeechobee Boulevard and Crestwood Boulevard North. The country clubs of West Palm Beach
Andros Isle is surrounded by several country clubs and golf clubs, which many locals are members of. Alongside the community's ample access to surrounding parks and nature reserves, these clubs, including their various fees, provide residents with yet another way to get outside and enjoy the Florida sun.
