Suburban Neighborhood in Westminster, Colorado
Jefferson County 80234
“The Ranch is the Hotel California of Colorado,” says resident Danielle Witte of the Westminster neighborhood. “Once people move here, they don’t leave.” The golf course community boasts pristine resort-style golf greens to premier dining at its country club, as well as semi-custom estates and stunning views. “Residents find a sense of community right away,” says Witte, an independent broker who has sold over 20 homes in the neighborhood. “People either move here because of the country club or become members after moving because it has so much to offer.”
The Ranch is lined with grand homes that are far from cookie-cutter. “There’s a blend of different styles here, so there isn’t one single look,” Witte says, noting that the winding roads and established trees add extra flair to the neighborhood's rolling hills. Looping streets are clustered with an amalgam of raised ranch-style homes, modern farmhouses and stately builds with Spanish Revival influences on spacious lots. Mixed materials and rambling layouts with hip-and-valley roofing create a unique look, and many homes have half-timbering with rich brickwork and stone siding that complements the natural landscape. Single-family homes typically range from $615,000 for three bedrooms and two bathrooms to $800,000 for up to six bedrooms and three bedrooms, though some lakeside estates are valued at up to $3 million. Town houses in the neighborhood offer smaller living arrangements without compromising on natural light and attached garages, commonly listing between $300,000 to $565,000.
Centered within the neighborhood, The Ranch Country Club is a huge attraction for residents and has recreational outlets for all ages. Members take to the 18-hole golf course, inground pool and tennis courts to maintain an active lifestyle and can take lessons or join various athletic leagues and social clubs. After a rigorous day of activity, folks enjoy first-rate seafood and delicacies while soaking in the breathtaking mountain view at the Club’s restaurant. Witte says the country club also draws in residents due to its family-friendly events and child services, which include movie nights for kids and seasonal festivities like a Fourth of July party and Easter Egg Hunt.
Residents also enjoy the beautiful Colorado surroundings at the countless parks and green spaces nearby. Kids explore the playgrounds at The Ranch Park, and sand volleyball and basketball games are often afoot at the park’s courts. The Westminster Recreation Center maintains facilities for indoor and outdoor activities, open space parks offer abounding acreage, and Big Dry Creek Trail provides miles of pathways for walking and biking.
Students in The Ranch may attend schools within the Adams 12 Five Star School District, including Cotton Creek Elementary and Silver Hills Middle, which both have overall Niche grades of B or higher. The middle school feeds into Mountain Range High School, a B-rated school ranked seventh place in best public high schools in Adams County by Niche. Students here can participate in Mountain Range’s High School of Business, a collegiate-level business administration program that allows students to earn up to 21 college credits.
When residents need to leave the neighborhood for additional amenities, they don’t have to go far. “There are plenty of dining and shopping options along 120th Avenue, from sushi and sports bars to supermarkets,” Witte says. Nearby shopping centers include Village at Park Centre, Thorncreek Crossing and Northglenn Marketplace, which feature stores like Safeway, Target and World Market.
With its active, family-friendly community centered around a renowned country club, this Colorado neighborhood offers residents a premier corner of the Centennial State. Unlike guests at the Hotel California, residents of The Ranch can always leave, but the plentiful amenities keep them close to home, where they can live it up any time of year.
