Westmont keeps residents close to the action

In South Los Angeles, Westmont is an established community where residents live close to Inglewood destinations and Los Angeles County parks. You have access to two major freeways and bus routes when you need to get around. There are places to dine out in the community, but you’re also a quick trip from restaurants and shopping centers around the area. Westmont may be mostly residential, but you get the benefit of living close to busier areas without the accompanying home prices.

Options for renters and homebuyers

The area is full of bungalows with designs that range from simple Craftsman to Spanish-inspired. Most properties are from the 1920s to the 1970s, so you’ll see more homes with long driveways and carports than attached garages. Prices usually start in the lower $400,000s and reach around $1 million for renovated homes. Westmont prices are similar to those in the surrounding areas, like Gramercy Park and Vermont Vista, but they’re lower than those in Inglewood. There are opportunities for homebuyers, but renters also have plenty of options in Westmont.

Westmont's freeways, rails and buses to LA

Interstate 110 provides a direct route to downtown Los Angeles, while Interstate 105 heads to the Los Angeles International Airport. “[Westmont is] pretty close to Inglewood and everything they’ve built over there, like the Intuit Dome and the SoFi Stadium,” says Sheena Pratt, a Realtor and team lead at Wedgewood Homes Realty. “People like the fact that it’s not in the direct center of it all, but it’s still close.” Inglewood is close enough to take a short drive over, but you can also catch Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority buses on streets like Century Boulevard to reach destinations like the Intuit Dome. Buses also make stops near Metro light rail stations, which have lines that lead to downtown LA and across the county.
