Inventory is slim
"Stonehedge doesn't have lots as big as Arrowhead next door, but some people don't want the upkeep of a bigger yard," says Amy Kehoe, Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Chicago. "Arrowhead is closer to the high school, and Stonehedge is closer to shopping. Both are great locations, though." Home sale prices in the neighborhood range from $400,000 to $800,000. Amberwood Estates is the first new Stonehedge subdivision in decades and occupies a sliver of land paved with a horseshoe-shaped street in the neighborhood's northeast corner. Razed lots a third of an acre large to build a custom home list for under $400,000. For $550,000, there are large late 20th century neo-colonials. Four-bedroom new traditional homes with amenities like outdoor firepits and professional landscaping list for under $800,000. Inventory, however, is almost nonexistent. Lynda Wehrli, a Realtor with Christie's International Real Estate and 20 years of experience, says, "We're in a moment of extraordinarily low inventory."
