With access to Wheeling's amenities along National Road and a close-knit community of businesses serving the local area, Fulton-Glenwood balances urban convenience with a relaxed, small-town feel.

Diverse housing near Wheeling Creek
Many homes in Fulton-Glenwood are from the early 1900s, built with wooden siding and featuring traditional and American Foursquare styles. Due to its proximity to Wheeling Creek, FEMA also requires varying levels of flood insurance.

Ohio County public schools in the area
Students may attend Ohio County public schools like Woodsdale Elementary, which earns an A-minus rating from Niche and is located just a mile down National Road. In sixth grade, students can move on to Triadelphia Middle School, which also earns an A-minus and is just 2 miles farther down the road. Wheeling Park High is just over 6 miles to the east of Fulton-Glenwood and also receives an A-minus from Niche. To learn about their area's unique history, students here can enroll in the History of Wheeling Course. This class is led one Saturday a month by the school's 2023 Teacher of the Year, Ryan Stanton, and is also free for the public to join.

Generations Restaurant & Pub has been owned by a local family for four generations and is known for their lively, music-filled atmosphere. Several auto-shops are also nearby, including Fulton Tire, which has specialized in quick, friendly service since 1921. Another locally-owned business is Dupe’s Scoops, a recently-opened ice cream shop sells sundaes, cones and pup cups. When looking for groceries, Kroger is also nearby, located less than half a mile to the east along National Road.

Heading outdoors at Oglebay Park
When looking to get outside, residents are just a short drive from public resources like the Wheeling Heritage Trail and Fitzsimmons Family Dog Park. Located just across Interstate 70, the Wheeling Heritage Trail stretches for over 18 miles along the Ohio River before leading through the city towards Fulton-Glenwood. Fitzsimmons Family Dog Park offers two large, closed-in areas for pups to run around in and is also right next to the City of Wheeling roller hockey rink. For more options, Oglebay Park is the largest park in the area and is just 4 miles away. With over 1600 acres, Oglebay has everything from golf and tennis to a small ski lodge and a swimming pool.
