Midcentury-era ranch-style homes are common
Most homes are midcentury-era ranch-style, often with two bedrooms, and Key West-inspired, painted in bright colors. They’re typically priced between the low $200,000s and the high $300,000s. Other homes are three- or four-bedroom Minimal Traditional, built in the 2000s and featuring full renovations. They generally range between the low $400,000s and low $600,000s and sit on grassy lots dotted with trees. While there are no sidewalks, there is plenty of room for evening walks. For residents 55 and older, the Spanish Lakes community has manufactured homes priced between $100,000 and $250,000.

Students at Fort Pierce Central High can get career training while in school
St. Lucie Public Schools serves the neighborhood. Children often start school at Morningside Elementary, which has a B-plus on Niche. From there, they can attend Southport Middle, which has a B-minus rating, and Fort Pierce Central High, which has a B rating. Fort Pierce Central High offers several academic pathways for students, including culinary arts and automotive service technology.

Boating and fishing in the St. Lucie River
Boaters are particularly drawn to River Park due to the abundance of homes with backyards opening onto the St. Lucie River. Private docks are common, allowing homeowners to boat toward the main neck of the river and follow it downstream to the ocean. And because this neighborhood has a public boat ramp, even those living on dry lots have access. This ramp is located at the River Park Marina, a small island park that’s a go-to for boating, fishing and general recreation. More options lie at Sportsman's Park with its athletic facilities, including its tree-shaded fitness zone to its basketball courts and baseball fields.

Dining in nearby Saint Lucie West
Residents head south down South Federal Highway to pick up groceries at Publix, located in the East Port Plaza shopping center. They’re also near the Town Center at St Lucie West shopping center, which offers another Publix location, plus dining out options, including Tail Gator’s, a locally owned spot serving burgers, tacos and sandwiches, and Vine and Barley, another locally owned spot popular for its happy hour deals. Other services like salons, gas stations and banks can be found in either shopping center. The closest hospital, HCA Florida St. Lucie, is about 5 miles from the neighborhood.

South Federal Highway and Florida's Turnpike keep residents moving
South Federal Highway runs along the neighborhood’s east side and travels throughout the Treasure Coast. Florida’s Turnpike is a few miles outside of the neighborhood, another major roadway that connects to Central Florida.

Niche Review
Police are often out patrolling on US 1. They seem pretty quick to respond to issues on the road (accident, disabled vehicle etc). I never have had an issue with crime in our neighborhood, I sometimes forget to lock my car or front door (bad, I know) but my vehicle has never been broken into. Neighbors are friendly and everyone seems to look out for one another.
