How White City is a practical alternative to nearby Sandy
White City is an established city near Interstate 15 and surrounded by the city of Sandy. Situated near the eastern foothills of the Wasatch Mountains, the community appeals to buyers looking for convenience without sacrificing access to recreation. White City has local parks, nearby shopping and dining options and connections to the rest of the valley. The home prices are usually lower than those in Sandy, so you pay less while still getting access to Sandy events and amenities.
Established detached homes near newer duplexes
When exploring the community, you'll see split-levels and ranch-style homes throughout. The prices usually range from the mid-$400,000s to the mid-$500,000s. Some of the newest homes are three-bedroom duplexes in the Meadows On Cy's subdivision, and the units have listed in the upper $500,000s to the mid-$700,000s. Meadows on Cy's is a maintained subdivision, so homeowners pay around $275 a month in HOA fees, but most homes in White City have no HOAs. According to Michael Wolters, a Realtor with Keller Williams, homes here are more affordable than in neighboring communities. “You get the luxury of being located within the Sandy borders [without paying] the Sandy prices for homes,” Wolters says.

White City is part of the Canyons School District, which gets an A-minus rating from Niche. Homeowners are moments from elementary, middle and high schools, including Alta View Elementary School, which offers a Spanish Dual Language Immersion program. Some families prefer private options like Hilltop Christian School.
Which parks are nearby, like Big Bear Park or Lone Peak Park
When you want to get outside, White City has a few options within the community. Big Bear Park covers nearly 15 acres and has multiple soccer fields near the baseball fields. You might play on the paved tennis courts or relax at the covered picnic tables near the bear-themed playground. Lone Peak Park has similar amenities and a skate park near the parking lot. Members of the Dimple Dell Recreation Center pop in to use the pool, play pickleball or join group fitness classes. Part of the Dimple Dell Regional Park extends through White City, where you can follow loop hiking trails or trails that lead all the way into Sandy.

White City residents are close to restaurants in surrounding Sandy
Living in White City means being moments from a Smith's grocery store and local stops like the Brews on 7th coffee shop. “The main attraction of White City is its central location," says Carlos Nelson-Tobar, a Realtor with RealtyPath. "It’s close to Salt Lake City, and it’s close to just about everything you might need in terms of amenities.” You have a few places to eat nearby, but most people visit restaurants along State Street, from HuHot Mongolian Grill to Slackwater Pizzeria. State Street also has shopping centers full of national brands, like the Commons at Southtowne and The Shops at South Town mall.

Joining the Last Blast of Summer or attending events in Sandy
The main annual event in White City is the Last Blast of Summer every August. You get free admission to see classic cars on display near vendors and food trucks. There's usually a raffle drawing and fireworks at the end of the day. It's also easy to pop over to Sandy for more things to do, from Movies in the Park at the Sandy Amphitheater throughout the summer to the Sandy City Balloon Festival in August.
Easy access to Salt Lake City by road, rail and bus
Interstate 15 is near the city and leads drivers nearly 20 miles to downtown Salt Lake City. The Utah Transit Authority provides public transportation through several bus routes with stops along 9400 South. The TRAX Blue Line light rail is available at the nearby Sandy Civic Center Station and runs between Draper and Salt Lake City. “Homes tend to sell quickly due to [White City's] desirable location and proximity to the eastern Wasatch Mountains,” says Wolters. Some people take trips to nearby Alta or Brighton, both popular skiing destinations less than 30 miles away.
