Haviland Manor is close to schools and transportation
Haviland Manor, 27 miles from Manhattan, is just outside downtown White Plains and draws residents with great schools, proximity to transportation and a lot of midcentury homes, though there are also more modern takes on revival architecture. “It’s a quieter area, there's only one way in and one way out, it’s a little bit of a secluded area,” says Constance DeFilippis, an associate broker with Keller Williams NY Realty. Defilippis is a White Plains resident and has been in the real estate industry for 50 years. Haviland Manor is bordered by the Hutchinson River Parkway, which runs throughout Westchester County and takes commuters into Manhattan. White Plains High School is in the neighborhood, and sidewalks along North Avenue and roads near the school allow students to walk to classes.
White Plains High School offers plenty of AP and Honors courses.

1950s and modern revival home styles
“It’s a cute area because you have a mixture of homes, and most of that area was built in the 50s,” says Defilippis. This area generally has smaller lots and houses than the neighboring Gedney neighborhoods, but the variety of homes here is one of its biggest attributes. Sprawling ranches and stacked 1950s split levels sit beside square, minimal traditional and modern Colonial Revivals. Roadways wind through the neighborhood, passing by manicured lawns with colorful flower gardens and shrubs shaded by mature maple and oak trees. Most homes in Haviland Manor are single-family and range from $975,000 to $1.15 million. A section of townhouses at the Ridgeway at White Plains range from $920,000 to $1.1 million. The CAP Index Crime Score for Haviland Manor is a 1 out of 10, lower than the national average of 4.
