Village of Glenbrook
Golf at Glenview Country Club
Along with the softball fields, Glenbrook has the Glenview Country Club in the neighborhood, along with its 27-hole championship golf course. For a shorter game, the nearby El Santiago Executive Golf Course offers nine holes. The Saddlebrook Pool & Recreation Center is also nearby and offers an adults-only pool (reserved for Villagers and guests 30 years old and older), pickleball and tennis courts, bocce, horseshoes and shuffleboard. For something a little more laid back, residents can attend professional polo matches at The Villages Polo Club, which often include tailgating.Designer style homes throughout the neighborhood
The homes throughout Glenbrook are mostly Designer models, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. They sit close on landscaped lawns, though some are on larger lots, usually along cul-de-sacs or the Glenview Country Club golf course. Prices range from the low $300,000s to the high $500,000s, with more expensive homes boasting views of the fairways and recent renovations. One perk of buying in Glenbrook is that most homes were built in 2000, and previous owners have paid off their Villages-issued bonds. The Villages places bonds ranging from $20,000 to $100,000 on all new construction, which buyers can pay in full at closing or in regular installments.Shopping, dinner and dancing at Spanish Springs Town Square
Glenview Country Club’s restaurant is popular among residents who want to dine out but stay close to home. Menu items include steak, burgers and salads. Nearby, Route 466 has a string of retailers and services, including chain restaurants like Olive Garden and Bonefish Grill, medical and dental offices, Publix and Fresh Market, Dollar Tree and PetSmart. Residents can attend live music, off-Broadway plays and seasonal events like The Nutcracker at the Scarlett O’Hara Theater in the Savannah Recreation Center. Glenbrook is also about 5 miles from one of The Villages' town squares, Spanish Springs, which offers additional restaurants, shopping and live entertainment on the square, complete with dancing.Residents get around by golf cart; Routes 301 and 427 are nearby
Most residents leave their cars at home and get around The Villages by golf cart. For longer trips, especially outside The Villages, residents head to nearby Routes 301 and 441. Both highways lead to Florida's Turnpike, which travels throughout Central Florida. Florida's Turnpike is the quickest way to get to Orlando, about 60 miles away, and Tampa, about 80 miles away.
