Scenic subdivisions along Greenville Loop Road
On the edge of Greenville Sound between Wrightsville Beach and Masonboro Island, Greenville Loop is named after the road it borders. The area consists of many smaller subdivisions. “It’s so lovely there with all of the big trees, big lots and big homes,” says Glenda Newell, a Wilmington resident who is affiliated with Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage. “It’s really a beautiful location.” In addition to being close to parks and other outdoor amenities, Greenville Loop is just miles away from shopping and dining on Oleander Drive. Homes closer to the water often have their own docks, but boaters could also store their vessels at the Bradley Creek Marina.
Larger homes in Greenville Loop are situated on islands or peninsulas that extend into the water.

Properties with dense foliage and waterfront lots
“There are a lot of homes in the Greenville Loop area that have intercoastal frontage,” Newell says. “They’re in high demand and high priced.” In some subdivisions, properties sit closer together in looping roads and cul-de-sacs with wooded backyards big enough for in-ground pools. Other houses sit tucked away behind long driveways and dense foliage. Homes date to the late 1960s, with some built as recently as the mid-2010s. Closer to Greenville Loop Road, prices range from $400,000 for smaller homes in need of updates to $1.4 million for newer homes with more than 3,000 square feet of living space. While most larger, waterfront properties range from about $1.7 million to $3.7 million, some particularly grand homes can range from $5.6 million to $10 million. Condos in the Tidal Oaks community with three bedrooms sell for around $215,000, but Bradley Oaks Condominiums range from $1.7 million to about $2 million.

Wilmington Municipal Golf Course is an 18-hole course that offers reduced rates to residents of New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties. Long Leaf Park offers four Little League fields and courts for tennis and basketball. For kids, there’s a playground, splash pad and walking trail that features pages from children’s picture books. “There is an equestrian area for those who ride,” Newell says. “But I don’t see as many horse shows out there as I used to.” Wrightsville Beach is a few miles from Greenville Loop. “Most of the college kids and the young people are on their boats over on Masonboro Island,” Newell says. “You can canoe over there and camp.” Ferries and water taxis also travel to this undeveloped barrier island, accessible only by boat. Visitors can explore this undisturbed environment, walk along the beach and while camping is allowed, there are no facilities.
