Rogersville-Bradley Creek’s subdivisions are close to shopping
Located just off of its namesake waterway, Rogersville-Bradley Creek is a secluded and primarily residential neighborhood, but major shopping and dining options are just around the corner. “I just love it here,” says Glenda Newell, who works with Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage and lives in the area. “There are so many things to do and so many interesting people to meet. It’s growing rapidly, but I have my acre with my woods, my birds and my dogs.” The area is made up of several smaller neighborhoods and subdivisions where properties can range from smaller condos with no driveways to single-family homes that sit farther back on larger lots off of Rogersville Road.

Public transportation, driving downtown and the Cross City Trail
Rogersville-Bradley Creek is a mostly car-dependent area, but there are a few Wave Transit bus stops on Military Cutoff Road. “There’s a lot of road construction getting ready to happen in the area,” Newell says, which could lead to increased traffic. The drive west to downtown Wilmington's Cape Fear Riverfront area is around 9 miles on Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, which can take up to 18 minutes in heavier traffic. This is about the same distance and time it takes to get to Wilmington International Airport on U.S. Route 74. The neighborhood is bordered to the northeast by Eastwood Road, which runs parallel with the Cross City Trail, a 15-mile walking and biking path that stretches from Halyburton Park and Empie Park to the Heide-Trask Drawbridge at the Intracoastal Waterway.

Gardens, beaches, parks and other outdoor amenities
Airlie Gardens displays daffodils, magnolias, tulips and other blooms on 67 acres of land. It hosts events throughout the year, including a concert series. “During the summer, on Friday night, they bring in bands from all over,” Newell says. “Everyone brings a blanket and food, and we sit out under the big oak trees. Bands are playing, and people are socializing; it’s just lovely.” Wrightsville Beach is a few miles away via Eastwood Road and the Cross City Trail. “I’m so close to Wrightsville Beach, I can ride my bike,” Newell says. “We have bike paths now all over the city.” Some HOAs have their own pools and tennis courts, and nearby Long Leaf Park is a green space with a playground and sports fields.
