Within 3 miles of Airlie Gardens and Mayfaire Town Center and 4 miles west of Wrightsville Beach, Seagate South is a quiet residential area close to the water and other attractions that make Wilmington so popular. “South of [Highway] 17 has a lot of family-friendly neighborhoods. Everybody wants to be close to the beach, but not everybody wants to be right on the beach,” says Sherri Ingle, Realtor at Intracoastal Realty Corporation.

Recreation on the Intracoastal and in Airlie Gardens
Live oak trees with Spanish moss, bubbling fountains and thousands of blooming tulips and azaleas in the Spring enchant visitors to the Airlie Gardens, just northeast of Seagate South. Bradley Creek, adjacent to Airlie Gardens, connects to the Intracoastal Waterway, an inlet waterway spanning the east coast from New Jersey to Texas. Boaters, kayakers and paddleboarders enjoy recreation on the Intracoastal. Wrightsville Beach is also a top spot for locals on the weekend. Ingle recommends The Loop at Wrightsville Beach, a 2.5-mile paved path that goes through downtown Wrightsville Beach and over the Banks Channel. “Everyone exercises down there. You go over two bridges, and it’s just really pretty. It’s a happening place all year,” she says. Jungle Rapids Family Fun Park has a water park for hot summer days, as well as laser tag and an arcade for indoor nights with the family.
